Performs intermediate assembly tasks such as but no limited to potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bond, curing, stamping and color coding

Be familiar with all operations in the department

Variety of products

Prepare job cards, material requisitions and work orders accurately and legibly

Follow instructions of Supervisor and Group Leader

Read work orders and bills of material

Work with small tools

Work and cooperate with others

Know department regulations

Maintain responsibility for the quality of work produced

Keep Supervisor or Group Leader informed on problems related to their work and job

Aid in the training of other employees

Maintain responsibility for returning work orders, prints, tools and materials to authorized personnel and departments

Follow all safety and PPE regulations

Work overtime as needed in accordance with contractual agreement

Ensure compliance with the current Health & Safety rules and guidelines

Responsibilities for mechanical assembler

• Standing at a work bench, assemble product from small and large components using small hand tools, including electrical and pneumatic
• Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is observed at all times
• Be involved in and to promote an environment of continuous improvement, flexibility and teamwork
• Sand blast outer surface of spheres in hooded machine, removing scale
• May use schematics or blueprints, wiring lists, and verbal and written instructions to assemble, modify, rework, or reassemble units
• Read work orders, follows production drawings, written routings and work instructions, make use of sample assemblies or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
• Positions and aligns jigs and fixtures to maximize efficiency and quality
• Crimps, stakes, screws, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits or similar operations to join or secure parts in place
• Mounts assembled components, transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, sockets, connectors and similar components onto chassis/PWB
• Connects components and lead wires to PWB

• The ability to accurately provide the information requested on specific forms, reports, and logs
• The ability to identify problems and to assist with resolution
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos is required
• Ability to write simple correspondence is required

• Tend machines that press, shape or wind component parts
• Installs finished assemblies or sub assemblies into cases or cabinets

• Experience working with CAD drawings and instructions
• Perform a wide variety of installation and wiring of various communication equipment such as Communication Radios on a Rack or in a cabinet per engineering documents
• Interpreted blue prints, schematics, and written instructions to perform assembly
• Performed constant quality checks to look for faulty components
• Responsible for assisting tests of assembled parts or products to ensure functionality
